AirTran Announces 120 New Flight Attendant Jobs

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, AirTran Airways Corp. said Friday it is hiring 120 new flight attendants and recalling 60 more furloughed pilots, but carrier is not planning to expand its capacity.

The new jobs and call backs come after AirTran furloughed 169 pilots last September and asked 300 flight attendants to take leave as it cut capacity to cope with record high fuel prices. AirTran (NYSE: AAI) has said it will shrink capacity an additional 3 to 7 percent in 2009.
